Sofia Rocchetti is a young and talented Italian tennis player. She has a career-high WTA ranking of No 927, reached on May 15, 2022.
Sofia Rocchetti was born on August 23, 2002. She started playing tennis at an early age and performed strongly in the ITF Junior circuit. She won the titles at the 2019 J3 Palermo \ ITF Junior Tournament Palermo and was runner-up at the 2018 J5 Cairo \ Smash Academy ITF Junior Tournament, the J4 Rabat \ Riad 21, the 2018 J4 Casablanca \ RUC Tennis International Junior Open, the 2017 International Tournament Citta’ Di Crema, the 2017 Kvarner Junior Open.
Sofia Rocchetti made her professional debut ин 2018 at $10,000 W15 Cairo (Egypt) but lost in the first round. During the next year, she took p[art at several more ITF tournaments, but again without any significant success.
In 2020, during the coronavirus pandemic, the Italian player took part in only 2 tournaments – $15,000 W15 Heraklion (Greece) and $15,000 W15 Madrid (Spain), but again reached the maximum to the second round.
In 2021, Sofia Rocchetti made her biggest breakthrough at the $15,000 W15 Heraklion (Greece), reaching the semi-finals. A year later, she reached another semi at the $15,000 W15 Marrakech (Morocco). She also reached the quarter-finals of the $15,000 W15 Cairo (Egypt).
Sofia Rocchetti is a young and talented player, who definitely will have a bright future in tennis and definitely will hear more about her in the coming years.
