Dalma Galfi is a Hungarian professional tennis player, who has won seven singles and ten doubles titles on the ITF Women’s Circuit. On June 12, 2017, she reached her best singles ranking of world No 136.
Dalma Galfi was born on August 13, 1998, in Veszprem, Hungary. She started playing tennis when she was five years old. Her father had two tennis courts, and he taught her how to play tennis. As a junior, Dalma Galfi won the US Open Junior in 2015. The same year, she reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open. She also won trophies at the Goteborg Open U16 (Sweden), Grand Slam Park Cup, Pecs Junior Tennis Cup 2, Pecs Junior Tennis Cup, (Hungary), as well as J1 Bradenton Eddie Herr International Junior Tennis Championships (USA). She reached also the quarter-finals of the prestigious Junior Orange Bowl 2012 and was the runner-up at the European Junior Championships 2012.
Dalma Galfi made her professional debut in 2013 at the $75,000 Trnava (Slovakia). She lost in the first round to Daria Gavrilova.
In 2014, Dalma Galfi won her first ITF trophy at the $10,000 W15 Heraklion (Greece). A year later, she won three more ITF trophies at the $25,000 W25 Cairns (Austria), $15,000 Tweed Heads (Austria), and $10,000 Solarino (Italy). During the same year, she had her biggest success, winning the US Open Junior and reaching the semi-finals of the Australian Open Junior. Her ranking climber sharply and she first time entered Top 300.
In 2016, she won $25,000 W25 Toowoomba (Austria) and $25,000 Chenzhou (China). She was also the runner-up at the $100,000 W100 Tokyo (Japan). She ended the year at world’s No 161.
Dalma Galfi made her WTA debut in 2017, playing with a wild-card at the Hungarian Ladies Open, However, she lost in the first round to Oceane Dodin. During the year, she reached the semi-final of the $100,000 Marseille (France) and $100,000 W100 Tokyo (Japan). On June 12, 2017, she reached her best singles ranking of world No 136.
In 2018, Dalma Galfi did not perform as well as expected. She reached the semi-final of the $25,000 W25 Stuttgart-Vaihingen (Germany). However, during the year she played at WTA 125 Oracle Challenger Series, reaching the second round.
In 2019 and 2020, she had two semi-finals in the ITF tour and reached the third round of the WTA 125 Oracle Challenger Series. She was the runner-up at the $25,000 W25 Antalya (Turkey).
Dalma Galfi returned on the winning path in 2021. She won the trophy at the $25,000 W25 Denain (France), was the runner-up at the $100,000 W100 Contrexeville (France) and $25,000 W25 Prague (Czech Republic). She made her breakthrough in the WTA tour as well, reaching the semi-finals of the WTA 250 Hungarian Grand Prix.
