Rebecca Sramkova

Rebecca Sramkova is a Slovak tennis player, who has career-high WTA rankings of 111 in singles, achieved on May 8, 2017. On the ITF Circuit, she has won ten singles titles and three doubles titles. Her biggest achievement is winning the title at the $100,000 Biarritz (France).

Rebecca Sramkova was born on October 19, 1996, in Bratislava, Slovakia. On the ITF Junior Circuit, Šramková achieved her highest ranking of 200. She won the titles at the Small Lobik, Tejt Prievidza Cup U16, was the runner-up at the Opalenica Cup and reached the semi-finals of the Mercedes Jugend Cup. She reached the quarter-finals of the French Open / Roland Garros in 2014.

Rebecca Sramkova made her professional debut in 2012 at the $10,000 Velenje (Slovakia) and reached the second round. During the year she played also in several more ITF tournaments, reaching maximum in the second round.

In 2013, she won her first ITF title at the $10,000 W15 Vrnjacka Banja (Serbia). During the year she reached also the semi-finals of the $23,000 W25 Budapest (Hungary) and the quarter-finals of the $25,000 Zawada (Poland).

Rebecca Sramkova made a strong season in 2014, as she reached the quarter-finals of the Junior French Open / Roland Garros. On the professional tour, she won another trophy at $15,000 Leipzig (Germany). She also reached the quarter-finals of the $25,000 Kreuzlingen (Switzerland).

In 2015, she reached the quarter-finals of the $50,000 Kreuzlingen (Switzerland). Rebecca Sramkova reached the quarter-finals of the $15,000 Leipzig (Germany), $25,000 W25 Woking (UK) and $10,000 St.Poelten (Austria).

In 2016, she performed extremely strongly and won the titles at the $25,000 Karshi (Uzbekistan), $25,000 W25 Rome (Italy) and $100,000 Biarritz (France). She is also the runner-up of the $50,000 Ilkley (UK) and reached the semi-finals of the $80,000 Prague (Czech Republic) and $25,000 Landisville, PA (USA). During the year, Rebecca Sramkova debuted in the Challender tour and played at the WTA 125 Open BLS De Limoges, but lost in the first round.

Rebecca Sramkova debuted at the Grand Slam in 2017, playing in the Australian Open. She lost in the first round to Yingying Duan. Later the same year, she reached the second round at the WTA 250 Ladies Championship Gstaad by iXion Services. However, she was forced to miss the rest of the season due to injury.

Rebecca Sramkova returned in 2018 with a title at the $15,000 W15 Antalya (Turkey) and two runner-ups at the W60+H Stare Splavy (Czech Republic) and $25,000 Torun (Poland). During the season she reached the quarter-finals of the $80,000 W80 Biarritz (France) and the semi-finals of the $60,000W60+H Valencia (Spain).

In 2019, Rebecca Sramkova won the titles at the $60,000 W60 Andrezieux-Boutheon (France), $25,000 W25 Grado (Italy), $60,000 W60+H Torun (Poland).

In 2020, she had relatively less gameplay and her maximum achievement was the runner-up of the $25,000 W25 Rancho Santa Fe, CA (USA).

In 2021, Rebecca Sramkova returned to the court. She reached the semi-finals of the $15,000 W15 Bratislava (Slovakia) and made her biggest breakthrough at the Challender tour, reaching the semi-finals of the WTA 125 Belgrade Ladies Open, as well as the quarter-finals of the WTA 125 Liqui Moly Open Karlsruhe.

Rebecca Sramkova did not record some significant achievements in 2022, but played at the French Open / Roland Garros and lost in the first round to the future semi-finalist Daria Kasatkina.
