Casper Ruud announced who will be his partner throughout the South American exhibition tour that he and Nadal scheduled. The Norwegian’s partner will be former doubles world number one and Australian Open winner Gisela Dulko.
Ruud and Dulko will face Rafael Nadal and Gabriela Sabatini during the exhibition tour. «Hello @rafaelnadal and @sabatinigaby! I was reading the fan comments on your post from a few days ago so I made a decision. I’m inviting @giseladulko right now to play with me and of course beat them,» Ruud wrote. On Instagram.
Where is the first stop for Nadal and Ruud?
Casper Ruud accepted Rafael Nadal’s invitation to accompany him on an exhibition tour of South America in November.
Nadal and Ruud announced the exhibition on Instagram, where they had a conversation in Spanish. «Very excited to be joining @rafaelnadal on his showcase tour of South America in November, kicking off in Buenos Aires on November 23rd!» Ruud captioned the conversation.
With this invitation, Nadal gave Ruud a chance to get revenge after Rafael defeated him in the French Open final.
In early June, Ruud suffered a straight-set loss to Nadal in the Roland Garros final. Ruud, 23, reached his second Grand Slam final at the US Open. Unfortunately for Ruud, he once again failed to win a Grand Slam title when Carlos Alcaraz handed him a four-set loss in the final at Flushing Meadows.
Although Ruud did not win his first Grand Slam title, he was proud of the streak he put together at Flushing Meadows. “I am proud of the match and the two weeks. I gave it all. I left it all on the field. I played phenomenal tennis over the two weeks, probably my best tennis on this surface.»
