World number one Iga Swiatek has learned the way to win the Australian Open. In the first round of the Australian Open, Swiatek will face Jule Niemeier, who is ranked 68th. If Swiatek beat Niemeier, she would probably know Camila Osorio.
In the third round, Swiatek could face a tough opponent for the first time, as she is projected to face 26th seed Marie Bouzkova there. Then, at the start of the second week, Swiatek would likely play Danielle Collins, the American who reached the Australian Open final 12 months ago.
In the quarterfinals, Swiatek is projected to play Cori Gauff, the American she defeated in the final of last year’s French Open. So Swiatek could meet Jessica Pegula for the second time this year. If Swiatek makes it to the final, there could be world number 2 Ons Jabeur waiting for her.

Swiatek lost his last match before the Australian Open
Swiatek began his 2023 season by representing Poland in the inaugural United Cup. Swiatek won their first three singles matches in the United Cup, but then suffered a 6-2, 6-2 loss to Pegula.
After the match ended, Swiatek covered her head with a towel and began to cry. “Because I knew that I felt a little helpless today, because physically and mentally I couldn’t even show up and solve the problem.
So it’s always difficult when you lose, especially when you’re playing for the team and your country. So I was sad. But, you know, it’s not the first time I’ve cried after a lost game. Nothing special,» Swiatek said after the game.
For Swiatek, it was not easy to deal with such a loss to Pegula. At the Australian Open, Swiatek could face Pegula in the semifinal. If that happens, Swiatek will surely look to make amends for the loss he suffered in the United Cup.
