Gilles Simon'S Moving Farewell To Tennis

Gilles Simon’s emotional farewell to tennis

After the feats performed against Andy Murray and Taylor Fritz, gil simon could not repeat in the round of 16 Masters 1000 in Paris-Bercy and surrendered Felix Auger-Aliassime in two sets. The French tennis player thus put an end to his career in one of the most important arenas on the world tennis scene: the Centrale del Palais des Sports de Paris-Bercy.

Simon has proven himself thanks to his great skills and tactical knowledge and has often put the best tennis players in the world in trouble. Impossible to forget the two successes obtained against Roger Federer in Canada and China in 2008 and the matches won with Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal respectively in Marseille and Madrid during the same season.

The French public greeted one of their idols with a well-deserved and emotional standing ovation. The organizers of the Parisian event brought to life a splendid ceremony. A ceremony attended by his son Timothèe, his team, his coaches, Nicolas Mahut and Lucas Pouille, two of his great friends on the ATP Tour.

Footage of some of Simon’s best matches over the years was subsequently broadcast on Center Court.
