Emma Raducanu will not return to action tonight in Indian Wells after withdrawing from the Eisenhower Cup. Raducanu, who has not played since the Australian Open, was scheduled to team with fellow Briton Cameron Norrie in the Eisenhower Cup mixed doubles event.
But just hours before the start of the Tie Break Tens event, Raducanu decided to pull out of the event. Last week, Raducanu was scheduled to play in a WTA 250 event in Austin, but she withdrew due to tonsillitis. Now, it is reported that Raducanu plans to compete in the Indian Wells women’s singles event.
«Emma Raducanu will not return to the court tonight in the mixed doubles with Cam Norrie. A spokesperson said her withdrawal is a ‘case of monitoring the body very carefully’ ahead of their first round match in Indian Wells on Thursday,» Stuart Fraser from The Times reporter.

Raducanu is scheduled to play Danko Kovinic
On Monday, Raducanu met her first-round opponent in Indian Wells as the 2021 US Open champion will play Kovinic. At the 2022 Australian Open, Raducanu and Kovinic met for the first time.
Back then, Kovinic claimed a three-set victory over the Brit. Now, Raducanu and Kovinic are ready to meet again. Raducanu hasn’t played since the Australian Open, so she’s probably missing matches, but Kovinic hasn’t been impressive of late either, as the Montenegrin has lost her last three matches.
In Indian Wells, Raducanu will make his third appearance. In 2021, Raducanu made his Indian Wells debut. That year, Indian Wells was played at the end of 2021 and Raducanu was seeded after winning the US Open. In her first match in Indian Wells, Raducanu was defeated by Aliaksandra Sasnovich.
Last March, Raducanu also had a first round bye in Indian Wells, but this time she was able to beat Caroline Garcia before losing to Petra Martic in the third round. It remains to be seen how far Raducanu can go this year in Indian Wells.
