Eugenie Bouchard approves of Aryna Sabalenka leaving a sports psychologist and saying that only she can solve her problems. Sabalenka, 24, kicked off the 2023 season by winning Adelaide and her first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open.

Sabalenka has had the best start to the season in her history and credits her new attitude and approach for her early season success.
«To be honest, I decided to stop working with a psychologist. I realized that nobody else would help me, you know? Yeah, in the preseason I talked to my psychologist and I said: ‘Listen, I feel like I have to deal with that by myself, because every time I wait for someone to fix my problem, they’re not solving my problem.’
I just have to take this responsibility and I just have to deal with it. Yes, I no longer work with a psychologist. I am my psychologist,» Sabalenka revealed.
Bouchard approves that Sabalenka is her own psychologist
Just a couple of days ago, Sabalenka admitted that in the past she used to get easily angered and irritated on the court.
But since the start of the 2023 season, Sabalenka has been taking everything in a much calmer way. Furthermore, Sabalenka has joked several times in recent weeks that she became «boring.» “I’m not that boring, I guess.
I’m still yelling ‘let’s go’ and all that. I don’t think it’s so boring to see me. I hope so. Just less negative emotions,” Sabalenka said. Sabalenka had an up-and-down 2022 season. But at the end of the 2022 season, Sabalenka reached the final at the WTA Finals.
After a strong end to the 2022 season, Sabalenka made an outstanding start to the 2023 season. If Sabalenka keeps playing this way, she could end up having a great season in 2023.
