Camila Giorgi lost to Daria Katkina in the semi-finals in Eastbourne. The world number eleven won 6-2, 7-5. It’s not the start of a perfect match for either of them.
Both players made a lot of errors and good returns from the blue as their serves were broken immediately which put their opponents in trouble. But the Russian finds more confidence in her shots and finds the square a bit lacking.
Katkina easily makes it 5-1 with a forehand assist. Giorgi managed to win a game again on serve, but the Russian number one, despite having some problems on her second serve, made no mistake when serving for the first set.
