Cirstea will not play any more tournaments in 2022
Due to a shoulder injury, the WTA World No.39 Sorana Cirstea has confirmed that she will not compete in any more tournaments in 2022.
The Romanian player has been fighting the injury since the US Open, when she fell in the second round against Belinda Bencic. “Since the US Open I have been dealing with a shoulder injury. The recovery period is longer than I expected and that’s why I haven’t participated in any tournaments in the last few weeks.
I have decided to finish the 2022 season here, so that I can recover and build a strong team. See you on the field in 2023! Sorana Cîrstea wrote on Instagram as quoted by Digi Sport. Cirstea’s Romanian compatriot, Simona Halep, also ended her season.
Here is his ad: “Having trouble breathing for many years and getting worse over time, I decided to take my doctors advice and do the necessary surgery. I couldn’t do it before because I never found the three months needed for recovery.
I also did the aesthetics pass, which I wanted to do for a long time because I didn’t like my nose at all. I know many of you can understand me,” added Halep. Speaking about his upcoming plans, Halep said he will take some time to rest and heal before returning to action.
“At the moment I am not thinking about anything other than recovery. What is certain is that this year I will no longer be able to compete in any official tournament. My 2022 season is over. 2022, you have been an interesting year full of everything!
See you on the court, 2023! I feel like I still have a lot to do on a tennis court and I still have some goals,” Halep concluded.
