Tereza Martincova was born on October 24, 1994, in Prague, Czech Republic. She is 1.79 m high and plays right-handed forehand and two-handed backhand.
In June 2013, Tereza Martincova made her WTA Tour main-draw debut at the Nurnberger Versicherungscup. After coming through all three qualifying rounds, she lost to Estrella Cabeza Candela in round one. One month later, she once again came through qualifying at the Baku Cup, defeating Oksana Kalashnikova in the first round, but losing to Tadeja Majeric in the second.
Tereza Martincova made her first WTA Tour quarterfinal at the 2015 Brasil Tennis Cup after victories over Quirine Lemoine and Ajla Tomljanovic. She also made her Grand Slam debut at the 2015 US Open. In 2016, she improved her best performance on the WTA Tour, making it to the semifinals of the Coupe Banque Nationale, and earning victories over Barbora Krejcikova, Ekaterina Alexandrova, and Jessica Pegula.
Her top Grand Slam result is the second round of the French Open in 2021. Several times she had reached the first round of Wimbledon and the US Open.
