Reigning NFL MVP and Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes visited the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on the opening day of the tournament. On Wednesday, Mahomes, his wife Brittany and their two-year-old daughter, Sterling Skye, were seen at Stadium 1 watching the men’s singles first-round match between Americans Marcos Giron and Aleksandar Kovacevic.

In mid-February, Mahomes led the Chiefs to a thrilling victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl.
Since then, Mahomes has been relaxing and enjoying quality time with his family.
Brittany Mahomes: Not the best idea to take a toddler to a tennis match
After Giron and Kovacevic’s match ended, Mahomes’ wife Brittany jokingly revealed that taking a young child to a professional tennis match wasn’t the brightest idea.
«I brought a little boy to a pro tennis match today, not the best idea,» Brittany Mahomes captioned her Instagram post. In Stadium 1, the Mahomes family witnessed Giron’s 6-3, 7-5 victory over Kovacevic. Girón made the first big move of the match, breaking Kovacevic in the third game to open up a 2-1 lead.
In the fourth game, Kovacevic had a chance to win the break back, but Girón saved a break point to confirm his break and put himself 3-1 up. After preventing Kovacevic from recovering a break, Girón broke Kovacevic again in the ninth game, when his compatriot was serving to stay in the first set.
Early in the second set, Girón had a break point in the second game, but Kovacevic was able to save it and avoid going down for an early break. In the next nine games, not a single break point was seen as Girón led 6-5 without a break in the second set.
But then, in game 12, when Kovacevic was serving to stay in the match, Girón broke his compatriot’s serve to complete a straight-set victory. For Girón, it was a very important victory since he arrived at Indian Wells with a two-game losing streak.
When it comes to the 24-year-old Kovacevic, he was making his main draw debut in the desert. It was the first meeting between Giron and Kovacevic.
