The professional relationship of Garbiñe Muguruza and Conchita Martínez has ended by mutual agreement. The Spanish coach himself announced it through his social networks.

Super successful relationship
Martínez began working with Muguruza as her part-time coach during the 2017 season, when Garbiñe won her historic title at Wimbledon. After parting ways, they began to re-form the team as of November 2019, now as full-time coaches.
The first two years were very successful, especially with the final of the Australian Open in 2020 and a brilliant season in 2021, including her victory at the WTA Finals in Guadalajara. That very positive year even earned Conchita the WTA coach of the year award. In addition, the native of Caracas returned to number 2 on the WTA list. Already from 2022 and the beginning of 2023, everything went uphill for Muguruza, leaving the Top 100 and almost unable to follow up wins.
