Millman told a press conference, making a clear reference to the match he beat Federer in 2018: «These are the matches every tennis player would like to play.

He is one of the few players I have never faced before. I like to watch him play. When you challenge Daniil, you have to work on every point. He doesn’t give you many gifts, he covers the field very well, he likes to extend the rallies.

It will be a very tough battle. But I have already won against some of the best players in the past. I like to play against them. I can’t wait to take on this challenge. Australia is a special place to play tennis, I love my country. This motivates me a lot.

I always try to take advantage of the energy that the public gives me. I have a lot of amazing memories on Court 3. One of the best moments of my career was when I played against Gilles Muller. I won in five sets and that match gave me the confidence to compete at this level.

I’m exhausted at the moment, but a lot of people from Brisbane will come to see me. Even today there were many. They are special and I will always remember these moments at the end of my career.»
