Magdalena Frech

Magdalena Frech is a Polish tennis player, who has won one singles title on the WTA Challenger Tour. She has also won four singles titles and four doubles titles on the ITF Circuit.

Magdalena Frech was born on December 15, 1997, in Lodz, Poland. She was introduced to tennis at an early age. In her junior career, she had won Radom Cup and Lodz Cup, as well as J3 Trnava \ ITF U18 Empire Cup.

Magdalena Frech made her professional debut in 2012 at $10,000 Warsaw (Poland) and reached the second round. Later the same year, she played at the $10,000 Antalya (Turkey), reaching again the second round.

In 2013-2015, Magdalena Frech played both in the junior tour and ITF Circuit. In 2013, she reached the quarter-finals of the $10,000 W15 Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt) and $25,000 Zawada (Poland). The next year, she reached the quarter-finals of the $10,000 W15 Heraklion (Greece), $10,000 Zielona Gora (Poland), $15,000 Braunschweig (Germany), $25,000 Makinohara (Japan) and $25,000 W25 Pune (India). During the year she reached the semi-finals of the $25,000 W25 Hamamatsu (Japan). in 2015, Magdalena Frech reached the quarter-finals of the $25,000 Winnipeg (Canada) and $10,000 Szczawno-Zdroj (Poland).

Magdalena Frech won her first ITF trophy in 2016, winning the $25,000 W25 Nishi-Tama (Japan). During the year she had three semi-finals at the $10,000 Bastad (Sweden), $25,000 W25 Ystad (Sweden), and $25,000 Westende (Belgium).

In 2017, Magdalena Frech made her WTA debut, playing at the WTA 250 BRD Bucharest Open. However, she lost in the first round to Danka Kovinic. During the year, Magdalena Frech won two more ITF titles at the $25,000 W25+H Leipzig (Germany) and $25,000 W25 Braunschweig (Germany). She was runner-up at the $25,000 W25 Obidos (Portugal) and reached the quarter-finals of the $100,000 W100+H Dubai (UAE). During the year, she entered the world’s Top 200.

In 2018, Magdalena Frech debuted in the Grand Slam, playing at the Australian Open, but lost in the first round. In the first months of the year, she reached the semi-finals of the $60,000 W60 Andrezieux-Boutheon (France) and $60,000 W60 Croissy-Beaubourg (France). Later she played at WTA 250 Grand Prix De Sar La Princesse Lalla Meryem and the French Open / Roland Garros, reaching the second round of both. This brought her to the world’s No 115, but she failed to keep her performance and the ranking dropped.

Magdalena Frech won her next ITF trophy in 2020, winning the title at the $25,000 W25 Canberra (Australia). During the year she reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 Livesport Prague Open.

In 2021, Magdalena Frech registered her biggest achievement winning the title at the WTA 125 Thoreau Tennis Open. She also won the title at the $60,000 W60 Prague (Czech Republic). Her ranking topper to career-high of world’s No 108.
