French tennis legend Jo-Wilfried Tsonga congratulated Hubert Hurkacz on winning this year’s Marseille title. On Sunday, the 26-year-old Hurkacz defeated Benjamin Bonzi of France 6-3, 7-6 (4) in the final in Marseille. Hurkacz, who was playing in Marseille for the third time in his career, received the title from former three-time Marseille champion Tsonga.

Hurkacz wins in Marseille and Tsonga presents him with the trophy
After beating Bonzi for his sixth ATP title, Hurkacz showed his class and encouraged Bonzi to keep his head up as he believes the Frenchman will soon lift his first ATP title.
“I am super happy today. Congratulations to Benjamin, he played very well. I think he deserved to win the second set, I just tried to compete as hard as I could. He has been playing very well this year and for sure he will get a title very soon.» Hurkacz said after the final, according to the ATP website.
After earning round of 16 exits at the Australian Open and Rotterdam, Hurkacz made it all the way to Marseille for his first title of the season. “I think my game is improving. I am very happy with the way I competed today.
I was able to get some good shots and good serves in the big moments, so I’m very happy with that,» said Hurkacz. Hurkacz is now set to compete at an ATP 500 event in Dubai, where he meets Andy Murray in the first round. .
