Carlos Alcaraz has confirmed that he is in full health ahead of the 2023 season. At the end of the 2022 season, Alcaraz was battling knee and abdominal injuries. This past weekend, Alcaraz returned to action at the Mubadala World Tennis Championships. In his first match, Alcaraz suffered a straight set loss as Andrey Rublev defeated the Spaniard 6-2 6-1- In the third place match, Alcaraz suffered another loss as Casper Ruud defeated the Spaniard 6-1 6- Four.

«I’m finally feeling good. I had a month to get my abs back right and right now I feel almost 100 percent. I’ve been training normally for the past week and I feel great.»
Of course having a target on everyone’s back is going to be a bit different for me this year and I have to be prepared for that. I’m going to try to end 2023 in the same position as now. It’s going to be a long year but of course I’m going to enjoy it,» said Alcaraz.
After concluding his 2022 season, Alcaraz admitted that he was positively surprised with his results this year. Before the 2022 season began, Alcaraz revealed that his goal for 2022 was to finish ranked inside the top 15 and earn a spot at the ATP Finals.
