Swiatek rested just enough to be able to play the WTA Finals
In an interview with sport.pl, Swiatek spoke about the exhaustion and fatigue he felt after the US Open.
Earlier this year, Swiatek needed just two days off to feel fresh. Now, he needs several days of rest to be able to go out and compete again. After winning the San Diego Open two weeks ago, Swiatek flew to Florida, where he tested for two days before flying to Fort Worth, Texas.
«I rested 2 days in Florida and on Monday we fly to Texas. I have recovered a bit, at least to be able to play the Finals. After that, I will need a longer rest period. It takes more time to recover today .
After the Australian Open, I felt completely rested just after 2 of the 5 days I had off the court. I felt fresh and ready. This was not the case after the US Open,» Swiatek said. Swiatek has played a lot of tennis this year, as she is aiming to reach her 10th final of the year at the WTA Finals.
Swiatek has won eight titles this year and is certainly aiming to cap off her year by winning her first WTA Finals title.
