Kokkinakis: I would like to have a great Grand Slam career

“You just have to be in really good shape and that’s what I’m working hard on right now, getting in really good shape.

Then whatever happens happens, but definitely making a deep run in a slam would be a goal. Especially when you play some of these guys in events and you beat them or you’re like, ‘Wait, I’m not that far off,’ and you see them make really deep runs.

You just have to be consistent physically and mentally and ready to play, but it’s definitely there if I want it,» Kokkinakis told The Australian Associated Press. Kokkinakis started the 2022 season by reaching the Adelaide 1 semi-final.

The following week, Kokkinakis defeated Arthur Rinderknech in the Adelaide 2 final to win his first title. Kokkinakis then became a Grand Slam champion at Melbourne Park after he and Nick Kyrgios won the Australian Open men’s doubles title.

«(This was) my best year on tour, so I’m excited. I’ve had some really good wins. It’s just about being consistent and doing my best every time I go out there to play. The next goal for me is the best.» . 50 and then continue from there,» revealed Kokkinakis.

It remains to be seen if Kyrgios can make his first Grand Slam singles deep run in 2023 and also break into the top 50 for the first time in his career.
