Jessica Pegula refused to be negative after losing easily to Iga Swiatek in the Donut final when she pointed out that she «you can still be very proud» of his campaign in Qatar. Seeded second in Doha, Pegula didn’t have much of a chance against Swiatek in the final as the top-seeded Pole beat the American 6-3 6-0.
On his way to reaching the Doha final, Pegula faced three players from the top 15: Jelena Ostapenko, Beatriz Haddad Mai and Maria Sakkari.. Pegula failed to beat top seed Swiatek, but it was definitely a good run. Also, Pegula won the Doha doubles event with Cori Gauff.

Pegula made two finals in Doha
Pegula enjoyed a very insightful and successful week in Doha.
Last year, Pegula and Gauff lifted their first title as a duo in Doha. On Saturday, Pegula and Gauff defeated Ostapenko and Lyudymila Kichenok in the Doha doubles final 6-4, 2-6, 10-7. «Yeah, it’s been an amazing week for me.
I had a hard-fought victory before, but honestly, I forgot about that. It seems like it was so long ago. I am very happy that I was able to win the match today,» said Pegula after the doubles final. Meanwhile, Pegula won’t have much time to rest as she is now ready to race in Dubai..
In Dubai, Pegula is the third seed and is bye in the first round. After a bye in the first round, Pegula will play against the winner of the match between Kaia Kanepi and a qualifier. Pegula, 28, is set to make her third appearance in Dubai.
In her Dubai debut in 2021, Pegula reached the quarterfinals before losing to Elise Mertens. Last year, Pegula was defeated by Ons Jabeur in the Round of 16 in Dubai. It remains to be seen how far Pegula can go in Dubai this year.
