«Best ever. I miss you already,» Venus wrote on Instagram.

Serena, who retired from the game after this year’s US Open, posted a longer tribute to Federer.

Serena, a former 23-time Grand Slam champion, called Federer an inspiration, noting that she was always his fan. «I wanted to find the perfect way to say this, as you so eloquently put this game to rest, perfectly done, just like your career.

I have always admired and admired you. Our paths were always so similar, so equal. You inspired countless millions and millions of people, including me, and we will never forget it. I applaud you and look forward to everything you do in the future.

Welcome to the retired club. And thanks for being you @rogerfederer,» Serena wrote on Instagram. The game will now lose two great champions in a span of a few weeks. After Serena’s retirement, Federer will join her in a week.

On the other hand, Venus has not yet retired and has indicated that he intends to continue playing. At this past US Open, Venus and Serena played doubles together for the first time since 2018. The Williams, who had 14 Grand Slam titles as a pair, suffered a first-round loss to Lucie Hradecka and Linda Noskova.
